Mechanical
engineering is our core competency of
Product Engineering. C-r-o-s-s-l-i-n-k's
Product Engineering is decentralized to
provide support at their points of manufacture.
C-I's product engineering philosophy:
product engineers are charged with fully
managing all facets of the after-development
product: from raw material's in, to out-the-door
print conformance. We do not title any
manufacturing engineers at C-I, this function
is fully handled by our product engineers.
We believe product engineers must be
knowledgeable about our product designs,
but, are more valuable making decisions-about
ongoing improvement of technology, machinery,
and people. They make those decisions
from a background of knowledge of mathematics
and scientific principles, of people and
organizations and of the processes and
machinery required to produce high-quality
goods, for an affordable price.
C-I product engineers are required to
be involved in the APQP (Advanced Product
Quality Planning) process of new programs,
to assure that their input is captured
in the product design before product launch.
We have realized our cost of quality has
significantly been reduced with our product
engineering philosophy in place. We attribute
this to our product engineering slogan:
'Quality is made, not determined at inspection'.
Our Product Engineers are concurrently
responsible for all products Cost of Quality:
- Profit Improvements
- Revenue Growth
- Cost Reductions
- Increased Productivity
- Operator Safety
- Reduce Leadtime & Inventory
As part of our product engineering support,
we are capable of working with our customers
to conform to progressive pricing, cost
reductions, and process improvements.
We typically ask for latitude via materials,
process and design (changes), but, we
enjoy challenging teamwork effort in order
to keep everybody's product(s) competitive.
